Hi nicam.. there have been a few sightings reported to me of the same ilk.. and in the same area... did you post this on ufomag forum under a different name? If not I have a member who I told to get in touch with the southend ufo group who might be able to put you on to others who have seen the same thing. I'll check to see if it was on the same night.

Do you know what direction it was travelling in? I ask so that we can rule out thos annoying ufo balloons.. they travel WITH the wind.. if we check wind direction on the night in question and it is not travelling in the same way as the wind then we can totally rule a balloon out.

I saw one myself a month or so ago.. a BIG bright orange ball.. definitely NOT a balloon.. In fact I can say hand on heart that I think the advent of these balloons/lanterns after so many sightings of orange lights is a little suspicious.

:)

Hello and welcome to the site Nicam.

It sounds like a decent sighting you are describing, as MJ already said you can rule out typical explanations right away.

Hi

I first spotted it when I saw it out of the corner of my eye through out conservatory window. It was dusk so you could see fairly clearly. As it was so bright I said to my sun to come and see this plane that is has really bright lights, except it still stayed as a kind of fiery ball shape and that's when I called my husband and we all went out in the garden.

I then went back into the house to get a pair of binoculars and we all stayed upstairs as it was going further away and it was better to see from there.

A real plane did cross its path but we could tell that was a plane as lights were flashing. This is when it weaved and then went behind a thin cloud and then was gone.

It was at 8.40pm and we watched for no more than about 5-7 minutes and we have never noticed a plane on the path it was going in that direction, west to east. As I said, no noise which is first thing I said as I had already heard two helicopters and the plane I just referred to we heard that.

We live in south-east essex, just outside Southend-on-sea which does have an airport. But it wasn't low enough to land there if it was going there.

Can't explain it as definitely wasn't in our minds a plane.

Hope that helps :!: :?:

hi Nicam

welcome

you say your family and I .....

have any members of your family written down a description of what they saw tonight? or are you the only person to record the sighting?

there was no noise, so what attracted your family to this object? At 8.40pm it was dark? or dusk? who saw it first? :P

Hi Nicam, Thanks for reporting the sighting sounds very interesting. The fact there was no flashing lights tends to rule out commerical or private aircraft, and the fact it weaved would rule out it being a satillite... so you have a good UFO sighting.

Do you mind me asking, what part of the country, ie town or county do you live? so I can look on the net to see if there have been any other reported sightings.

Sighting

by Nicam » Fri Aug 21, 2009 8:09 pm

My family and I saw a bright orangey/red object which I thought was a plane fly over our house at 8.40pm tonight (21st August 2009). It did not have flashing lights like a plane, plus it did not follow any flight path we are accustomed to in our area.

It went quick quickly, there was no noise and it appeared to hover as a real plane went by it. It weaved as well. It's shape was not that of a plane or any craft like thing we know of and it was more like a boulder shape.

It then disappeared behind some clouds in the distance but remained very very bright until that time

Even now I can hear planes coming across plus earlier than our sightings helicopters and that's why we think it is something we cannot explain, just tell what we saw.
