Really strange lights over London?

Hey, in April I think on the 19th, I looked out my window and saw about 6 circle lights in the sky and they were all positioned as though they were around a large circle. They kept changing colour from red, blue, yellow and green. It freaked me out a little. I then noticed a strong beam of light coming from a different bit of sky, it was really bright and it looked like it might have been looking for something. I have never seen anything like this before so I was bit like omg! It seemed like it was coming from Catford/Bromley side in South East London. Another beam of light appeared and it was shining down as though it was also looking for something. These beams of light were definitely too big and bright to belong to a helicopter or plane. There was also strange triangle shapes that seemed to be shooting over my house from a different bit of sky, though every triangle shape shot from exactly the same point in the sky. All the lights stayed there for at least a few hours. In the end I got in bed. I tried to take a video but it didn't really show up which is quite odd. Any idea what this could be? I forgot about it until now. I also searched on twitter for info and I saw that a few others also saw these strange lights in the sky.

Soulds like a good sighting, do you know if there was anything in the opress about it? any links if there is could be useful.
